About Riley’s Bargain Barn
In 1972, my grandparents, Granville and Mary Riley opened Riley’s Bargain Barn in Booneville, Kentucky. It was a general store that sold groceries, gas, clothes, shoes and a variety of other items. A few years after the store opened, my Grandfather cleared out the backroom and started having auctions every Friday night at 7:30 p.m.. After several years of business, my Grandparents decided to close the store and retire. In 2005, Riley’s Bargain Barn reopened its doors online. We will continue with my Grandfather’s passion for auctions and sell all our items through online auction venues such as eBay.
The items we plan to put up for auction will be listed in the following categories: Antiques, Books, Collectibles, Dinnerware, Flatware, Glassware, Household Items, Pottery, Small Appliances and Sporting Goods
Meet the Riley’s Bargain Barn Staff
Tyler is our Shipping Manager. He is responsible for making sure that we have all the proper packing materials available to safely pack and ship your items. He is our main shipping person. His responsibilities also include making sure his little brother follows the proper shipping and packaging procedures.
Zack is a member of our shipping department. He’s Tyler’s right hand man. He is responsible for carefully packing your items so they arrive safely at your door. He has been trained by Tyler to make sure the correct size box is used and your items is carefully padded with bubble wrap and packing peanuts to prevent any damage or breakage.
Hannah is our purchasing agent. She goes with me to find the items we put up for auction. She has the knack for finding great merchandise. Don’t let that cute smile fool you. She is a fierce negotiator when it gets down to getting the best price.
And then there is me…Doug Riley. I am the grandson of Granville & Mary Riley and owner of Riley’s Bargain Barn. I am a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. degree in Industrial Technology. I have been married to my wife Michelle for 13 years.
